Advance Planning Studies

Railroad CFI

The structure work for the CFI alternative includes the addition of a retaining wall with tiebacks to the westbound side of Railroad along with the removal of the current retaining wall on the eastbound side of Railroad and replacing it with a new retaining wall with tiebacks further from the centerline.

No changes will be made to the current I-15 bridges crossing over Railroad.

A link to the full Railroad CFI APS is at the bottom of the page. Listed below are portions of that APS that highlight the structural changes.

Eastbound Railroad Elevation View

This is the elevation view of the eastbound side of Railroad, the existing I-15 bridge is shown from the side and is at the top of the picture with its first abutment on the left. The dashed line labeled as "Approximate Original Ground" needs to be excavated to place the new retaining wall (labeled as "3") and its tiebacks (labeled as "1"). The current retaining wall that must be removed is labeled as "4".

Cost Estimate

The cost estimate of the structure work of adding the retaining walls for the CFI alternative is $2.9 million.
